The Elements of “Magique”

The Magique Bazaar is just about to make an appearance in Southern California!   They’re San Francisco’s longest-running magic show, started in 1998.  With special funding from Kickstarter, this Bay Area favorite is headed for San Pedro’s Warner Grand Theatre on July 14th.  The planned show is themed, “Year of the Dragon,” and features illusions–and musical influences–from all over the world.

Recently, three of the show’s stars talked about their preparations for this special show, and the creative collaborations that make the project workable.  Fontain Riddle is one of the show’s co-founders.  With her husband, sitarist and groove creator Farhan Khan (a/k/a  Flash), she creates the sound of the Magique Bazaar through their world band Fontain’s Muse.   Show co-founder Majinga the Magician is a twelve-time award-winning illusionist who has performed at venues all over the world–including L.A.’s Magic Castle.  Fontain, Flash and Majinga spent a morning explaining some of the elements that audience members may see in “Year of the Dragon”–including face-changing and the didgeridoo.
