Our special Lancer Radio series, “Six Facets of Creativity”, continues. This is a look at the six volunteer organizations that fund and build their own floats for the
Rose Parade®.
These organizations are called “self-builts”, and include one that has been in the Tournament of Roses Parade® since the 1890s, one that’s built entirely by students…and one that’s rumored to have a haunted float barn!
In this post, we take a look at the Sierra Madre Rose Float Association. Want to help them this year? They need volunteers–and could really use a loan of an RV, for their hardworking volunteers to get a few hours’ sleep on December 31st! You can contact them at their float barn.
