A “peaceful, easy feeling”–or caustic observations about life in L.A.?
Yes. And some Brad Colerick-style folk music/storytelling.
It’ll all be a part of the music when Eagles songwriter Jack Tempchin appears in concert, this Sunday evening, August 19th, with alternative country rockers I See Hawks in L.A.! Singer/songwriter Brad Colerick (“When I’m Gone”) will open the show and host the concert, which starts at 7:00, this Sunday at Pasadena’s Neighborhood Unitarian Universalist Church.
Jack Tempchin wrote the Eagles’ classics “Peaceful Easy Feeling” and “Already Gone.” He also authored numerous other hits, including Glenn Frey’s “You Belong to the City” and Johnny Rivers’ “Slow Dancing.”
I See Hawks in L.A. have produced six albums since the band’s start in 1999. Earlier this year, they released their all-acoustic live recording, “A New Kind of Lonely.” Their music expands from an unflinching social commentary on life in California, to examining what it means to live different lifestyles across the nation–and what those actions say about us as human beings.
Brad Colerick has topped the charts in the folk-DJ and Euro-Americana categories since his return to life as a performing artist six years ago. Brad had spent nineteen years producing music for ads before releasing his second album, “Cottonwood,” in 2006. Brad now has four albums (his most recent one, “When I’m Gone,” includes a tongue-in-cheek look at Tinseltown in “Crazy for Hollywood” as well as the insightful “Leave It All Behind.” He is also the host of South Pasadena’s “Wine and Song” concert series, every Wednesday evening. And just in case there’s some danger of his having some free time–Brad also has his own record label, and his own music production company!
